The Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) has accepted the independent judgment on the one‐week suspension of  Dominiko Waqaniburotu after he admitted an act of foul play.

In a statement the FRU said: “The FRU is grateful for Waqaniburotu’s low‐end suspension and thanks the Independent Judicial Officer for taking into account the mitigating factors presented, and for considering his admission and remorse in the ruling today.

“The FRU accepts that in the context of the Rugby World Cup tournament a week equates to one match and looks forward to game time opportunities for Waqaniburotu in Fiji’s upcoming third and fourth Pool A matches.

“The FRU is also indebted to Chris Lewis of Lewis Silkin LLP for legal services for the Flying Fijians team participating in RWC2015.”
