The youth forum for young people reaffirms that we need to connect with young people and hear their voices with regard to development, says Minister for Youth and Sports of Tuvalu Fauoa Maani.

Mr Maani said this while closing the 2015 National Youth and Sports Conference at the FMF Gymnasium yesterday.

He said it was no secret that issues faced by youths the world over; especially in the Pacific region, reflected the very real and dire concern which needs immediate attention; issues such as unemployment, sexually transmitted diseases, climate change, poverty, mental health, drugs and substance abuse.

Meanwhile Rotuma youth participant Rupeti Vafoou said their youths came with a mentality to learn from youths here in Fiji and they were glad to be part of the youth conference.
