The Ministry of Youth and Sports has raised its concerns on the Fiji Football Association’s FIFA world ranking.

Fiji currently ranks 181 in the world and this has forced the ministry to monitor FFA closely.

Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou told SUNsports this was in relation to the ministry’s stand on good governance on all sporting bodies.

“We are closely monitoring the association because of the ranking.

“Fiji Football association has more money than rugby and I am not sure how they doing their development and the ministry is very concerned of the rankings,” Tuitubou said.

Tuitubou also confirmed they have not received a complaint against FFA with regards to the clean-up campaign issue which has been circulated in the media lately.

“Nothing has been received or formalised but if we get the complaint we’ll get that submission and the complaint and hear both sides of their stories to be fair.

“We need to do proper investigation because we’re doing good governance now,” he added.

Fiji was ranked 192nd in 2014 and has moved up to 181 position this year.

When contacted yesterday Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said he would make a statement today.
