‘The Razor Wins for Late Brother’

Three rounds was all it took for Junior “The Razor’ Farzan Ali to maintain his unbeaten record with a TKO victory over Ulaiasi ‘sweet’ Qalomai in the Westwood Boxing promotion at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last night.
Referee Faiyaz Khan awarded the fight to Farzan before Round Four commenced after consulting Qalomai’s cornerman, Marika Yalimaiwai.
Farzan continuously hassled Qalomai with some telling blow and the Bua Prince failed to find his form throughout the bout.
The Razor dedicated his victory to his late brother Zulfikar Joy Ali.
“It has been a while to be back in the ring and I dedicate this especially to my late brother, who is no longer in our midst, all the boxing fans and my family,” he said.
“I could have knocked him out in the first round but I slowed it down for the fans; he could have hit the canvas in the first round,” Farzan said.
Qalomai was gracious in defeat and thanked Ali for once again reviving boxing.
“It has been after four years and we are reviving boxing; we need more boxing programmes; I only had one month to train but will return in the next fight.”
