POEM: Why Is A Ship Called A She?
Males are always around her Fussing about and messing around her.

Males are always around her
Fussing about and messing around her

Exposing the top audaciously
She hides her bottom graciously
Men draws to her so lavishly
Surrounding her alittle vigorously

Seen at her best with a coat of paint
Upkeep costs more than the rest
Thus maintenance is high
This she accepts with a subtle sigh

Tirelessly carrying man’s burden
effortlessly swaying in the calm ocean
It takes proficient men to tame this dame
In turn her demands exceed their aim

Without man at helm to guide
the lady is uncontrollable with the tide
In port she needs buoy to hold steady
Sometimes need two to makeher ready

Historically ships had a female name
The figure head usually a feminine frame
This may be why the reason for the term
Or her famine allure, from bow to stern

A ship is a she that is how we like her to be
With loving tender care, our lady at sea
