Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgi Kvirikaashvili, has invited Fiji to visit Georgia and study its well-developed public administration system.

He made the invite when meeting the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, yesterday during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.

Mr Kvirikaashvili took the opportunity to discuss his countries current political situation and also thanked Fiji’s friendship.

Ratu Inoke discussed the prospect of a visa free arrangement system with Georgia and thanked Mr Kvirikaashvilli for the placements and scholarships currently being offered to six Fijian students in Georgia.

They also agreed to further strengthen relations especially in the tourism sector.

Mr Kvirikaashvilli was accompanied by Georgian Director of Asia, Africa, Australia and Pacific Rim, Aka Akobia, while Fiji’s Deputy Secretary – Political, Luke Daunivalu, accompanied Ratu Inoke.
