Support Dreketi Team: Tui Macuata

Tui Macuata Wiliame Katonivere is very proud of Dreketi team for their outstanding performance. He has called on the people of Macuata to support their first Courts Inter-District Championship game against Suva on Saturday.

He said these players were from a small rice farming community and yet they had football talent.

“This got to show that there are great potential in players in Dreketi and Macuata,” Ratu Wiliame said.

“We have players like Roy Krishna playing in New Zealand and a number of footballers from Macuata Province playing for different clubs abroad.”

“I am really proud of them because not only they have lifted the name of Macuata, but they have represented Fiji.” he added.

“Since Dreketi will be featuring in Courts IDC for the first time, I would like to urge people to support them as it will be held in their own home ground.”

He said morale support was very important.

Meanwhile, Subrail Park in Labasa is fully prepared to host two opening matches of Courts IDC on Saturday.

This was confirmed by the Labasa and Savusavu Town Council special administrator, Vijay Chand yesterday.

Chand said $5000 was involved in painting of the pavilion.

“The seating capacity in the main stadium including the side pavilion is 5500 with an embarkment seating capacity of 3600 ,” Chand said.

“Subrail Park is in an excellent condition to start the 2015 IDC,” he added.

Fiji Football Association Competitions manager Amitesh Pal said the matches would be held according to schedule.

“The opening match is between Suva and Dreketi at 1pm and then at 3pm, Labasa will face Rewa in the same venue,” Pal said.

He said the last IDC match was held on October 4, 2014 between Labasa and Suva and once again the northern fans have the opportunity to cheer for their teams.
