$54k Stolen: Police

A total of F$54,000 worth of foreign currency was stolen from the ANZ Bank outlet at the Nausori International Airport on Monday night, Police said.

Police are looking for four masked men who allegedly robbed the outlet.

Chief of Intelligence and Investigations ACP Henry Brown, in confirming the amount stolen, has requested foreign currency exchange outlets to keep a look-out.

“We are requesting foreign exchange outlets to keep a look out for any persons who may be acting in a suspicious manner and to call the Criminal Investigations Department headquarters on 3315599,” he said.

It is alleged that the four men were armed with cane knives and stones.

Meanwhile the arrest of a robbery suspect over the weekend has enabled the Police to establish the involvement of others in a series of robberies around the central and Western Divisions. Police are also trying to establish whether there is a link between the suspect and the four men who robbed the ANZ Bank outlet at the Nausori Airport.
