As part of a customer awareness initiative the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) is conducting roadshows around the country.

Speaking at the roadshow in Lautoka on Tuesday WAF general manager Sekove Uluinayau said they had completed consultations in Suva, Sigatoka, Nausori and Nadi.

“The main theme of this roadshow is the value of water; we are trying to educate customers on the value and importance of water especially when we are facing this dry spell,” he said.

“We want to avoid reaching our critical condition stage where we don’t have water, so we need to educate the public on how to use water sparingly.”

Mr Uluinayau said despite the low turnout at the consultations, the response from those who did attend was tremendous.

The team will be conducting roadshows in Ba today. Next Tuesday and Wednesday the team will move to Tavua and Rakiraki. Their last roadshows will be in Labasa and Savusavu.
