Fiji’s quarter-final dream in the 2015 Rugby World Cup is over.

But the Vodafone Flying Fijians fought hard for the full 80 minutes against a determined Welsh side.

They showed glimpses of what they are capable of achieving on the field.

Ben Volavola missed out on 2 kickable penalties which could have made a difference. The sole try by Vereniki Goneva had the Welsh men back peddling and ignited hope to the side.

But as expressed by captain Akapusi Qera after the game, “We lacked decision making in some areas and it cost us at the end of the day.”

Coach John McKee said “I’m very proud of our players today…the work we’ve put in up to today. Fiji can hold their heads high.”

In a span of 13 days, Fiji has played three of the top ranked teams in the Rugby World Cup competition.
