Who Missed This?

Who said the Police do not have resources? How come $15.3 million, regarded as surplus, was returned to Government at the end of the second quarter of this year because it was not used by Police at the end of the fiscal year?

And yet the Police are saying that they do not have enough vehicles and other resources to effectively carry out their work. At the same time some ex-Police officers are still waiting to receive their backpay. What’s going on? There must be some wires crossed here.

Chiefly buzz

SODELPA MP and lawyer Mosese Bulitavu must have stirred the hornet’s nest. There is a big buzz over social media and private circles over his statement that the chiefly system and the Great Council of Chiefs were the creation of the British colonial lists to prop up Bau. An academic who claims she has done her own research of Fijian history plans to come out with her own version. Mr Bulitavu cannot go unchallenged, she says.
