The Flying Fijians kept the 2015 Rugby World Cup alive with a valiant fightback against Wales in Cardiff yesterday.

Despite going down 13-23, the  Fijians played with an incredible spirit and skill and stamping a mark that they can compete with Tier One nations

The Pacific Islanders denied Australia and Wales from gaining four-try bonus points and it may well prove the decider who wins the William Webb Ellis Trophy in the end.

But for now it’s back to where we began four years ago for the Flying Fijians. Unless the World Rugby changes the rules, we will be slotted in another ‘Pool of Death’ at the 2019 RWC in Japan. So we need to get used to playing with Tier One nations and we’ve proved that at Twickenham and Cardiff.

But we’ve yet win a game out of three which means there’s a gulf and more work to be done.
