Nasinu Gospel Primary School sprinter Kolinio Gonebale knows the challenge that is before him.

The Nayavu, Wainibuka, Tailevu native will carry the flag and hope of the school during the Nasinu Zone on October 16.

“I’ve been preparing well even before the school’s inter-house.  I’ve had my road runs after school and I’m thankful to my parents for supporting me,” Gonebale said.

The Year Eight student won gold in the 100 metres during the Nasinu Zone athletics meet last year.

“I am going to train hard and try to win gold again as this is my last year in school, so I want to make it a memorable one,” he said

Headteacher Mereia Vuniwaqa says they have good athletes during the inter-house at the ANZ Stadium on Thursday.

“We have Kolinio who will be running in the 100, 200 metres and our relay,”she said.

“We also have our female athletes in Ana Rabonu, Taraivosa Taqiritawa both in Year Seven and Elenoa Capetu.

“They are our star athletes and we’re looking forward for them to lead the charge this year.”
