The Tanoa Salon Culinaire 2015 has received praise and accolades from stakeholders in the tourism industry.

The 8th edition of the competition is being organised by the Tanoa Group of Hotels for its local and Samoan property culinary departments.

Fiji Chefs Association business manager Darren Braddock said the competition was very special to each and every one present at the event.

“This is a great platform for you to come and showcase the talent and skills that you all have,” he said.

“It is good to see our friends from Samoa, who are also part of the event.”

Bakels Fiji sales and technical manager Phil Henry said the participants needed to enjoy the competition as it would always bring out the best in them.

“This is a great platform and a great community for all participants,” Mr Henry said.

“They need to make sure that they enjoy themselves while participating; we also thank the directors and the organisers for putting up this two-day competition.”

Aviation Australia’s business development manager Leata Alaimoana said culinary is also an important aspect of the tourism business.

“For me it is always about culinary for the Pacific. It is good to see my friends from Samoa being part of this after they made it through the Samoa championship,” he said.

“This event is so vital and important to everyone here.”

The event ends today with the prizegiving ceremony and a cocktail party.
