The Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Mahendra Reddy, has sent out his well wishes to Year 10 students who will be sitting for their Fiji Year 10 Certificate Examination today.

A total of 14,937 students in 167 centres around Fiji will sit for the exam.

“I remind students to enjoy their examination and do their very best,” Mr Reddy said.

“This is an opportunity for students to assess what they have learned throughout the year and I am encouraging them give it their best shot.”

Mr Reddy said Year 10 was an important level because students prepare themselves to choose their career pathway in Year 11.

“The subjects they take in Year 11 will determine the future career pathway a student will take.

“I am urging parents to provide their children with all the support they need during this important time,” Mr Reddy said.

Nausori High School Year 10 student Priya Pillay said: “I have prepared well for the exam and I hope to do my best”.

“I am excited that Year 10 exam is back and this will determine where we stand. My school teacher and parents were really supportive towards our examination preparation,” she said.

Meanwhile, from the 167 centres, there are 27 centres in Nausori, 13 in the Eastern Division, 35 in Suva, 24 in Macuata and Bua, 13 in Cakaudrove, 20 in Lautoka, Yasawa and Nadi District, 14 in Ba and Tavua, 14 in Nadroga/Navosa and 7 in Ra.
