Dreketi Prepare For Nadi
Lotus Construction Dreketi left Labasa yesterday for Ba for the Courts Inter-District Championship (IDC) this week.
The team’s second match is against Nadi tomorrow 1pm at Govind Park, Ba before they play Lautoka on Thursday.
Dreketi coach Johan Leewai said this would the first time for the team to play western teams.
“We drew 2-2 with Suva in our first game of the IDC last weekend,”he said.
“Nadi and Lautoka are good, experienced teams and we are wary of that.
“However, as a team we are focussed and know our ultimate mission of the IDC is to win every game in our pool.”
Team captain Sisa Valesua was grateful for the players’ commitment so far since been promoted to the Senior Premier division.
“This is the first time Dreketi is participating in IDC,”he said.
“I feel honoured to be the first captain of the Dreketi team and I will do my best to work with other players and make our district proud.”
