A non-member has also been appointed to give the process transparency and integrity.

Their appointments were approved at the party’s management board meeting in Suva on Tuesday night.

This, after the management board received the report containing findings of an inquiry by a board headed by Anare Jale.

The inquiry was conducted into the controversial Gaunavinaka confidential report which has split the party.

The report is critical of the governance of the Opposition Office and the leadership of Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa.

The management board endorsed most of the inquiry findings that included the staffing situation, consultation between the Opposition Office and the party and finance.

Meanwhile, the party’s general secretary Pio Tabaiwalu said the management board had taken steps to protect the party’s integrity and to ensure general ethics of professionalism is maintained.

The management has   decided that effective immediately, media statements made on behalf of the party will be only be made by the party president, party leader and the general secretary.

“Grievances by any party member will need to follow the due process as outlined in the party constitution and shall be made formally to the general secretary in accordance with relevant section of the party constitution

“Any member found in breach of the above guidelines will be subject to the disciplinary procedures of the party.

“The management board, meanwhile, has also made appointments to the various committees within the party that are expected to generate a new direction for the party as it steps up its attention towards the 2018 General Elections, or before.

“These committee appointments are in line with the amendments in the party constitution recently adopted by the Party.

“The party, meanwhile, thanks all members of the party and the people of Fiji including all Media fraternities for all the support rendered to the party, and it wishes everyone a great Fiji Day in advance.”
