The Fiji Police Force have ruled out rumours aired on social media of major disruptions in tomorrow’s Fiji Day celebrations around the country.

Police Chief of Operations Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rusiate Tudravu said preparations were in order for all the urban centres that would be hosting the celebrations.

“For us the security and criminal landscape are of no worry. There are no indications that there will be disruption in the celebrations,” ACP Tudravu said.

“We will concentrate our deployment in areas where people will attend in large numbers at the different urban centres; our officers on the ground will ensure this.”
