Vodafone Fijian 7s reps are leading the way in the need to eat   healthy breakfast daily.

Yesterday Jasa Veremalua and Apisai Domolailai joined a group from CJ Patel Group at Lepanoni Village in Deuba serving free Weet-Bix and Rewa Life Milk to children and villagers.

They were part of CJ Patel Group’s Weet-Bix “Better Brekkie” breakfast programme.

The 7s pair encouraged parents to serve healthy and nutritious breakfast to their children daily.

“Parents should encourage their children to have breakfast before doing any activity,” Mr Veremalua said.

“Breakfast is the important meal of the day and you can’t function without having your breakfast.”

He commended the Weet-Bix “Better Brekkie” breakfast programme initiated by the CJ Patel Group because it promoted healthy eating at Fijian communities.

“I am urging children to eat healthy and nutritious breakfast,” he said.

CJ Patel Group marketing co-ordinator Emily Mani said: “This programme encourages everyone to know the importance of having breakfast.

“We want to encourage our younger generation that it is important to have a healthy breakfast before going to school or doing any other activity.

“Weet-Bix is one of the major products that CJ Patel supplies and it contains 97 per cent of wholegrain which gives people a lot of energy.

“We brought along the players for people to meet them and the players encourage and advice them on the importance of eating healthy breakfast,” Ms Mani said.

She said they had received good response from people of Naselai Village in Tailevu and they hope to move along with their breakfast programme to Western and Northern divisions.

Meanwhile, Lepanoni Village headman Jione Temo said: “The villagers are very happy and it is the first time they see the two 7s heroes in the village.

“We all are supporters of Fiji 7s, mostly our children,” he said.

Mr Temo thanked CJ Patel Group for bringing such an initiative to their village.
