Nadroga Beat Labasa

Nadroga caused the second upset of the 2015 Courts Inter-District Championship at Govind Park, Ba yesterday. The Ramesh Sharma-coached side came from behind to stun the Babasiga Lions. What happened:

Nadroga caused the second upset of the 2015 Courts Inter-District Championship at Govind Park, Ba yesterday.

The Ramesh Sharma-coached side came from behind to stun the Babasiga Lions.

What happened: Labasa took an early lead with goals coming from Gabrieli Matanisiga in the 19th  minute and six minutes later Ravinesh Karan Singh scored their second goal before Ilisoni Tuinawainunu extended the lead before halftime.

Halftime: Nadroga 0 – 3 Labasa.

The Stallions regrouped and scored their first goal through Anish Khem before former Lautoka rep Andrew Naicker scored two goals in a space of seven minutes which stunned the Babasiga Lions fans. Sanjeel sealed the win in the 82nd minute.

Star turn: Anish Khem worked hard for the Stallions.

Big play: Andrew Naicker used his height to good advantage upfront.

Comments: Nadroga coach Ramesh Sharma said, “The boys gave their all.”

Labasa coach Bal Sanju Reddy said: “I’ve no comment.”
