The Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma plans to build a bigger accommodation centre for deaconesses around the country.

This was revealed by the Methodist Church Administrator for the Deaconess Order, Meresiana Kuricava, during their fundraising day at the Jubilee Hall in Toorak, Suva, yesterday.

The current centre for deaconess is at 29 Muana Street in Samabula, Suva.

“We need to improve the learning environment for our deaconess and this can be achieved if we work together,” Ms Kuricava said.

“We are also getting ready for the 50th Golden Jubilee of the Deaconess Order in Fiji and Rotuma, which will be held on the 10th of February 2017.”

The Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma has about 200 deaconesses.
