Khan Buses Lautoka will have to work extra hard and devise something special to win the HFC Farebrother Challenge from BLK Nadroga this Saturday.

This was after the Nemani Nagusa captained Nadroga beat Namosi 10-8  at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.

What happened: The Risiate Tadulala captained Namosi team started the game well.

Namosi first five eighth Semesa Takirua and his counterpart Alivereti Veitokani traded penalties but failed.

But in the 37th minute the visitors were penalised and Veitokani kicked the first points for Nadroga to lead 3-0 at halftime.

In the second spell, Nadroga raised the tempo resulting in a try in the 44th to Maikeli Toga after he was set up by Veitokani who also kicked the conversion.

In the 46th minutes Namosi fullback scored in the corner after powerful play by the forwards.

In the 51st minute Semesa Takirua kicked a penalty after the Nadroga players were penalised.

In the 70th the Stallions were reduced to 14-men after referee Kaveni Talamaivavalagi sent off substitute Josefa Namalo for eye-gouging Tadulala.

In the last 10 minutes Namosi staged a series of attacks but the Nadroga defence stood firm.

Big play: Eremasi Radrodro was instrumental in the forwards for Nadroga.

Star turn: Kelepi Naimasi was outstanding for Namosi.

Comments: Nadroga captain Nemani Nagusa said, “Namosi has been one of our toughest opponents this season. We played three times and they took us to the wire.

“We were really challenged in the set pieces but in the end we retained our title once again.”

Namosi captain Risiate Tadulala said, “It was a tough match as we were prepared well. But in the end, one has to win and the other loses out.”

The Nadroga – Lautoka challenge is on Saturday October 17 at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
