Abhid Hussain of Nadi won the Fiji Premium Open after a playoff with Ofa Allen Junior at the Fiji Golf Club yesterday.

Fiji Golf Club captain Vidhya Lakhan applauded the performance of three golfers.

“I think the golfers enjoyed themselves especially Ofa Allen  Junior , Ravinesh Goundar and Abhid Hussein who were. remarkable during the two- day tournament.

“Blessed by a good weather, 115 golfers participated but the trio stood out not to discounting James Pridgeon of Pacific Harbour,” Lakhan said.

Local professional Sam Lee, who will be participating in the Fijian International 2015 at the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course next week, also participated.

Meanwhile, Paradise Beverages marketing manager Joe Rodan Senior was happy with the turnout.

“This Fiji Premium Open blends in well with Fiji Day and we’ve a very big turnout including President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau,” Rodan said.

“We’ve been sponsoring this tournament for the past 9 years

“This is one way the sponsors give back to the consumers as well Fiji Club that has been a customer for the past years

“The tournament is roughly costing us $1500, 000 along with prizes.”
