The children of Treasure House orphanage in Nadi were treated to lunch last Saturday by a team of volunteers as part of Fiji Day celebrations.

The treat included hampers from FMF – made possible through Treasure House volunteer and FMF Lautoka branch internal auditor, Shuiab Hakim.

Mr Hakim said this was the first time for his team of volunteers to provide lunch for the children.

“We wanted to do something special for the kids and to bring smiles to their faces on this day and to make them feel included,” Mr Hakim said.

“We were really happy to see the reaction on the kids’ faces when we arrived and it was just priceless for the team.

“Our team mainly supports these causes and after we left Treasure House, we visited Saint Mina’s Children’s Home in Martintar,” he said.

About Treasure House

Treasure House is a child orphanage located in Nadi Town.

It is a home for some underprivileged children orphaned through tragic circumstances. Some of them are without one or both parents. Some are a result of domestic crisis and violence, some from deep poverty, drug, alcohol or sex abuse.

It was established in 2000 by some American missionaries in Ba before it was relocated to Nadi in November, 2007.

Treasure House, which is faith-based, aims to provide orphans with a stable, loving and permanent home.
