Sixty students attended the junior clinic hosted by the organisers of the Fijian International tournament at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course yesterday.

Professional golfers from various countries including Australia’s Daniel Valente, Sam Eveas, and Ben Wharton took turns to lend a hand to the budding golfers.

National Golf coach Graham Bell said this was all part of building up to the tournament.

“It is good to see the students come in numbers, as we have been having such clinics for four months in various schools from Suva, to Lautoka,” he said.

“Last month we’ve seen over 1750 students taking part in the activity which is incredible in spreading the gospel of the sport.

“This is all part of getting the young players to get out and start learning and play the game.”

Tuva Primary School Year Six student Nishaal Chand was happy to take part in the clinic.

“We really enjoy the sport, it is new and good to learn about,” he said.

“It is a funny game but a lot of made money in this game, therefore it is very interesting one.”

Vodafone Fijian 7s reps Osea Kolinisau and Emosi Mulevoro who are also Fijian International  rugby ambassadors together with coach Ben Ryan were also present to sign autographs.
