Lautoka Rugby Union’s (LRU) preparation for the HFC Bank Farebrother Trophy Challenge against holders Nadroga this weekend has been boosted with a $5000 sponsorship.

The help came from Khan Buses Limited.

Company director Mohammed Naved Khan said the help was part of their social responsibility to boost communities in sports participation.

“We are in the process of helping communities and there is no other better way, but to invest in rugby,” he said.

Khan said the help would boost the Maroons who were the last challengers of the season.

Lautoka and BLK Nadroga play at 3pm on Saturday.

LRU treasurer and operations manager Jale Nakacia thanked Khan Buses for their kind wgesture.

“This has come in the right time as we had struggled during the Skipper Cup and this is a good boost for the Farebrother preparation,” he said.

“This is not the first time they have come on board as they have been shuttling the team this season.”

He said they would prepare a strong team because in their Skipper Cup match against Nadroga, they came from behind to draw 20-all at Nadovu Park in Lautoka.
