The Fiji Nursing Association held its annual sports day in Levuka, Ovalau, at the weekend.

All nurses from around the country flocked to the old capital for their two-day tournament.

FNA president Kavekini Neidiri said despite the rainy weather the nurses enjoyed their day out.

“Everyone enjoyed the wet weather and it didn’t dampen the spirit to participate and have fun,” he said.

“With the theme ‘Harvest the Wellness in You’ nurses were reminded to look after themselves before their reach out to other people or patients when they are at work.

“We have a lot of activities in the association and a major part of it is wellness.  It’s an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being.”

The event is held annually and the Suva Fiji Nursing Association will host the 2016 sports day.
