The North West Nadroga Under-14 team is ready to tackle Rewa in the opening match of Bongo 40th Fiji Primary Schools Football Association (FPSFA) Inter-District Championship in Labasa.

Their match in Pool Three will be held at Guru Nanak Primary School in Labasa at 9am today.

Team coach Kamlesh Deo said his team was famous for producing best players.

“After our game in 2007, many went on to represent the national team,” Deo said.

“Today 15 players from our area are playing for Nadi, Nadroga and Suva and five players are in Fiji National team.”

Team manager Roneel Raj said: “Our first game against Rewa would surely be a game to watch as we are well prepared.”

Team secretary Ashwin Chand said this was the first time for the team to travel to Labasa.

“The 20-member team are excited and confident to take one game at a time,” Chand said.

“We are happy that the weather is good.”
