Ba, Labasa Set Pace

Labasa and Ba Under-14 teams performed well on Day One of the Bongo 40th Fiji Primary Schools Football Association (FPSFA) Inter-District Championship yesterday.
Labasa thumped Savusavu 3-0 and Navosa 5-0 while Ba beat Nadroga 5-0 and Navua 3-0.
Both Ba and Labasa are on eight points and it is likely they will feature in the final tomorrow.
Fijian Primary Schools Football Association acting general secretary Rohitesh Chand said Lautoka and Rewa were also been performing well.
“Four quarterfinals will be held today at 3pm and we will be able to know which four teams will qualify for the semifinals tomorrow, ” Chand said.
“It is a very tough competition, all teams performed well and right now we cannot predict which team will make it to final because anything can happen.”
Meanwhile, the U12 two semifinal matches will be played today and finals will be held tomorrow at 10.45am.
“We have three pool games and by 2pm we will start with the semi-finals,” Chand said.
The seven teams in the U-12 division are Nadroga, Navua, Dreketi, Seaqaqa, Ba, Nadi and Rewa.
As of yesterday, Chand confirmed that there has not been any report of players being injured and matches have proceeded as planned.
