Cries Overwhelm Funeral Gathering
Preists perform the final rituals during the funeral of Prishika Devi, Uleshni Lata and Jai Narayan at Navosai in Wainibuku yesterday.

The loud cries of a heart-broken woman were a telling factor during the funeral gathering of the three people who died in a fire at Navosai, Nasinu, last Friday.
Hans Wati lost her husband, a daughter and granddaughter in the blaze.
Jai Narayan, 54, Uleshni Lata, 28, and Prishika Devi, 10, perished in the fire. At least a hundred people attended the funeral gathering to pay their last respects.
Overwhelmed with sadness, Ms Wati, also fainted while lamenting the loss of her family members despite attempts by close relatives to comfort the distressed wife, mother and grandmother.
Ms Lata was described as easy-going and calm person by her sister in law, Anjana Devi.
“This is such an unfortunate incident because it claimed the life of three family members and we are still in a state of shock,” Mrs Devi said.
“Uleshni loved her family and took great care of her parents. My niece, Prishika, was a very pretty girl and we will miss her, so as my uncle.”
The caskets were taken to the Wainibuku Crematorium for cremation.
