Vodafone Fiji has announced the appointment of Rajnesh Prasad as its new chief marketing officer.

Mr Prasad is not new to the teleco-industry having joined the mobile giant as Engineer -Data Services in 2003 following a short stint as a tutor at USP.

He has served in various capacities in Vodafone Fiji in the past 12 years before being promoted to the current position.

Starting his career as a graduate engineer, Mr Prasad has come through the ranks to become Manager Consumer Applications, then moving to the Head of Business Development, Head of Broadband Services.

He was appointed in an Executive Role as the general manager Sales and Marketing last year before being promoted into his current role.

Mr Prasad will oversee the whole Sales & Marketing portfolio for Vodafone Fiji.

Education

Mr Prasad is a graduate in Computing Science and Information Systems from the University of the South Pacific.

He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Warwick University in UK and a Masters in Information Systems from Central Queensland University, Australia.

 

Innovation

Mr Prasad has been instrumental in the design and development of some very key and innovative solutions to add to the Vodafone suit of products.

The development of the Vodafone Fiji M-PAiSA Mobile Money system was his brainchild which went on to win the 2011 Mobile Money for Unbanked Award at the Global Mobile Award for the best mobile money deployment.
