The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) is trying to implement provisions in its amended Constitution which was passed during the special general meeting in Suva last month.
The party’s management board met yesterday in Suva to discuss some progress reports in terms of their constitution.
Party general secretary Pio Tabaiwalu said they were trying to implement provisions of the constitution in terms of party branches, constituencies and membership.
“We are trying to establish our structure. This is the main focus,” Mr Tabaiwalu said.
Gaunavinaka Report
Mr Tabaiwalu also confirmed that the inquiry into the controversial and confidential Gaunavinaka Report has been completed.
He, however, could not comment on the implementation of the recommendations of the Disciplinary Committee.

Party leader
Mr Tabaiwalu said the party leader’s position would be advertised as per the provisions of the party’s constitution.
He said they had not put together requirements they would want from applicants applying for the post.
Mr Tabaiwalu said the leader would be someone who had worked his or her way up the party and also one who believed in the party’s principles.
