Republic of Fiji Military Forces beating France in the International Defence Force semifinal last week.

Semesa Rokoduguni is highly likely to miss Bath’s Premiership clash with Harlequins at the Rec on Sunday.

The powerful winger is available to play for the British Army as they meet his fellow countrymen, the Republic of Fiji Military Forces in the final of the International Defence Rugby Competition at Twickenham Stoop on Friday.

And four other Fijians will feature in the final with Rokoduguni for the British Army.

The British Army beat a spirited New Zealand team 40-15 in the semi-finals thanks to a strong performance by a high octane pack topped with 7s internationals Ifereimi Boladau [Fiji], Joe Naycavaou [Scotland], Makulusio Koroiyadi and Glasgow Warriors’ Jonasa Bulumakau.

Fiji-born Rokoduguni played earlier in the competition against Australia and scored an easy hat-trick. Fiji beat the French Armed Forces 37-12 in their semi-final.

Army’s head coach, Major Andy Sanger, said: “The final of this amazing competition will bring together two great teams of totally contrasting styles and cultures. The Army will play from the sort of platform that beat the Defence Blacks.

“We need to subdue the natural flair of the Fijians who, we know, will want to counter-attack anywhere, any time and anyhow.”

The trophy the teams are contesting commemorates the selfless sacrifice of Arthur Harrison, the England rugby international who won the Victoria Cross.
