The victim of the knifing incident in the Kinoya murder-suicide incident, Karishma Lal, can now speak, says mother Maya Wati yesterday.

She told the Fiji Sun that her daughter can now speak slowly and was still recovering.

Mrs Lal, an assistant accountant at Rentokil Initial Fiji, was allegedly knifed by her late husband Johit Prasad, who was also the national sales manager for Rentokil.

Their two children, Jeralle Prasad, 3, and Tanvi Prasad, 5, were also alleged to have been hanged by their father before he committed suicide at their Kinoya home.

Mrs Lal had spent close to a month in the Colonial Memorial War Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). She was discharged on August 25.
