Rewarding!

This is how Ba Industries Limited (BIL) has described winning four consecutive awards at the Westpac Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Awards.

The company truly understands the benefits of the awards and has applied again this year for the Golden Manufacturers Limited Manufacturing Exporter of the Year Award and LICI Medium Exporter of the Year Award.

BIL specialises in manufacturing wire nails, barbed wire, chain-link, range of fasteners, roller shutters. It was established in 1974.

General Manager Pramodkumar Keshav said: “We have been in the export market for the last 35 years with a loyal clientele since 1980.

“However these awards bring in recognition of our products & related services  in international markets which is highly competitive.”

Mr Keshav added the awards are a great platform to showcase the wonderful work exporters are doing and other businesses should consider applying.

“It is great to be a part of an export family to share its values and appreciate the results. Not everyone is the winner but it is better, than not to be there,” he said.

BIL has won four awards from 1993 to 1996 and Network Exporter of the Year Awards in 1998 and 2005, Fiji Quality awards in 2002 and Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Recognition Award 2014.

Future

BIL is planning to continue to tap into the exporting market in the region on a large scale.

Mr Keshav said: “We supply our products to all the Pacific Island nations along with Tahiti, New Caledonia and the Cook Islands.

“We envisage exporting into Marshall Island, Christmas Island and Nauru in the near future.”

Currently, BIL takes a substantial market share of more than 60 per cent in the wire and fencing industry in Fiji and the Pacific Region.

About BIL

BIL today has expanded its operations into an 11000 square feet property, providing employment for over 80 employees.

Mr Keshav added BIL embarked on an aggressive exports plan in the 1990s and is leading exporter of wire and fencing products from Fiji into the Pacific Region.

The company has also obtained an ISO 9001 certification that meets international standards.

The Prime Minister Exporter of the Year’s Awards will be held at the Sheraton Convention Centre on Denarau Island next Saturday.
