Youths of the Suva Division of the Methodist Church in Fiji took part in a sports day at Suva Grammar School yesterday.

Sports leader Kolinio Dokanivalu said they use sports as a way to get the youths of the nine circuits together.

“The objective is to bring everyone together where they can build friendship,”Dokanivalu said.

He said not only do they aim to get youths together but to also try to produce athletes who will someday represent the country.

“We already had some of our members who are members of the national rugby and netball teams.

“That should be a motivation factor for our youths.

“It is not easy to organise such a tournament but it has been a success and we thank the Lord for providing us with this wonderful weather in order for us to enjoy our day.”

The youths took part in netball, volleyball, touch. rugby and rugby.

The nine circuits under the Suva division include Raiwai, Raiwaqa, Muanikau, Tamavua, Nauluvatu, Suva, Navukavu and Nadera.
