Top RFMF Post To Be Advertised

Acting Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Commodore Viliame Naupoto’s term has been extended.
Fijian President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau has extended his appointment following advice from the Constitutional Offices Commission .
Commodore Naupoto’s initial three month term as Acting Commander ended today. He was appointed by the Constitutional Offices Commission after the resignation of then-Commander, Brigadier-General Mosese Tikoitoga.
A Fijian Government statement said Commodore Naupoto will continue to act as the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces until such time when a substantive appointment is made to the position.
“The Constitutional Offices Commission has also approved that the position of the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military be advertised so that a substantive appointment can be made by His Excellency the President in the near future.
“The position for the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces will be advertised by the Constitutional Offices Commission in the media from next week,” the statement said.
