Westpac Bank brought home the true meaning of Diwali last Friday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

Staff members and guests gathered to celebrate the auspicious occasion.

The event had a touch of Hindu tradition and music to welcome the 2015 Festival of Lights.

Dhol or Indian drums played by welcome band members in full and colourful traditional attires welcomed the staff and guests.

The arena was filled with the soothing melodies plucked from a sitar played by renowned Fijian sitar player, Viviek Nand.

Entertainment was also provided by the popular Vou Dance Group.

Westpac general manager Adrian Hughes said: “Diwali is such an important festival for people across Fiji, and such a beautiful sight to see with so many homes decorated with lights.

“Westpac is a proud supporter of Diwali, and we’re proud to have been bringing light to people of Fiji by helping them prosper and grow financially and through community and sustainability programmes since 1901,” he said.

He said 2015 was a good year for the bank because staff members worked very hard in a competitive market and delivered stunning results.

“To all our customers, new, old and future customers, thank you for placing the trust, confidence and business with the big red W,” he said.
