Following advice from the Constitutional Offices Commission, His Excellency the President has extended the appointment of Commodore Naupoto as the Acting Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.
Commodore Naupoto will continue to act as the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces until such time when a substantive appointment is made to the position.
The Constitutional Offices Commission has also approved that the position of the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military be advertised so that a substantive appointment can be made by the President in the near future.
The position for the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces will be advertised by the Constitutional Offices Commission in the media from next week.
Commodore Naupoto’s predecessor Mosese Tikoitoga had resigned from the position of Commander, Republic of Fiji Military Forces to pursue a career in the foreign service in August this year.
