A man charged with the alleged rape of a child appeared again at the High Court in Lautoka yesterday.

Filipe Tuisawaukoroinibau Wai Kepa, 44, appeared before Justice Aluthge. He is charged with three counts of rape contrary to section 207 of the Crimes Decree 2009 and one count of pornographic activity contrary to section 62 of the Juveniles (Amendment) Act 1997.

The court heard that the matter was for first call and that the accused was currently in remand at the Natabua Corrections Centre in Lautoka.

Kepa is alleged to have raped the child on different occasions between 2013 and 2015 and allegedly participated in recording the activity directly and or indirectly.

The State prosecutor requested for 21 days to serve disclosures.

Justice Aluthge asked the accused which form of representation he would choose.

Kepa opted for legal aid representation.

Justice Aluthge ruled for the matter to be called again on November 23 for mention.
