Pacific Islands Art (PIA) has vowed to sponsor 10 of Miss World Fiji’s gowns to the Miss World pageant in Sanya, China, next month.

Miss World Fiji 2015 Brittany Hazelman confirmed this during the opening of Pacific Islands Art’s Suva branch last Saturday.

Ms Hazelman acknowledged the business for supporting her journey to the pageant and her advocacy work.

Miss World Fiji pageant director Andhy Blake said Ms Hazelman would be wearing a gown by Pacific Islands Art during the pageant’s National Gift Auction. This is when all the contestants would be auctioning the different gifts from their various countries on the world stage.

New PIA outlet in Suva

A new Pacific Islands Art branch was opened last Saturday showing an expansion in the family business.

The clothing line was created by Gerard Guyot of Tahiti over 50 years ago.

His grandson and PIA director Tehau Guyot said their materials were hand printed by men.

“Every prints are hand printed so all printing bores have been hand carved by men. Every design has a specific story which makes every piece unique and special,” Mr Guyot said.

The business has an outlet in Nadi and Lautoka as well.
