The Lami Athletics Association hopes to get a gold medal at the FMF Chow Games on November 20-21 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

Lami Primary School teacher Osea Serea said they were expecting a tough Chow Games.

“Every school will be working extra hard to win medals,” Serea said.

“We did not win any gold medals last year so this year we are confident that we can do that.

“The kids have been training really hard and looking forward to the Games to start because for most of them, this is their first time taking part in the competition.”

The schools representing Lami have increased from four to six schools. The schools are St Thomas Aquinas Primary, Chauhan Memorial, Waiqanake District, Ro Delainamako Primary, Namosi Primary and Marist Convent.

“We have 120 athletes taking part and that is a good number for us,” he said.

“Having this many athletes is just incredible and this is our fifth year taking part in the Chow Games so we want to make a memorable one.

“We know what to expect this year and we are excited, we just want to go out there and do our best.”
