Tui Macuata Commends Budget

Tui Macuata Ratu Williame Katonivere said he knew Government would deliver the promises it made in the 2016 Budget.
He said after hearing the announcement of the budget made by the Minister for Finance and Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum last Friday, he knew his vision to see Labasa became a city by 2025 would come true.
“Government has come to people’s doorsteps to help alleviate poverty and improve the living standard in Fiji,” Ratu Williame said.
“The budget was structured in such a way that there was allocation of fair distribution of funds for every Government department.
“There has been certain allocation for various developments and improvements in infrastructure in Macuata and two other provinces, Cakaudrove and Bua.”
He said Government had always remained committed in serving Fijians.
“Now it is on the people to take the first supportive step and utilise the assistance. In the process of development, there would be challenges and obstacles which people must face and overcome,” he said.
“I have great hope that Macuata province will develop more and the Northern Division will have its own city after I have seen positive commitment by the Government.”
