Four Celebrity Chefs To Celebrate Local Cuisine

A group of international celebrity chefs will be converging on Turtle Island for the ‘Savour the Flavour’ this month.
This includes four chefs – Chef Carlos Cham, owner and chef at Carlito’s Place in Pescadero, Baha California Surl; Chef Sam Talbot, author, philanthropist and TV personality based in Brooklyn, New York;
Chef Jacques Reymond, renowned French-born chef who lives in Australia, and Chef Spike Mendelsohn, owner and chef of the acclaimed restaurants, Good Stuff Eatery, Béarnaise, and We, The Pizza in Washington, D.C.
Miette Creative PR and marketing director Jane Hong confirmed from New York saying, “A very special event happening on Turtle Island as it will be hosting Savour the Flavour, a month-long celebration of thanksgiving with four celebrity guest chefs this November.”
“We’re flying in a rotating cast of chefs from around the world to celebrate Fiji’s abundance of local seafood, meat, fruit and vegetables,” Ms Hong said.
She said there is no better way to experience a place than to indulge in its local produce and traditional cuisines experiencing a tour and sampling of local flavours, both Indo-Fijian and iTauke, where they will be creating their own unique take on Fijian cuisine.
“We’re planning a local tour on the mainland for each chef where they’ll get to sample the local flavours. They will also participate in a tasting at the Fiji Rum Company in Denarau,” she said.
The event begins on November 10 and guests will be able to interact one-on-one with the chefs, participate in cooking classes and demos and of course indulge in their South Pacific-inspired dishes.
Meanwhile, Turtle Island is a private island resort that hosts just 14 couples at a time.
