Son, Family Lament Loss Of Father

The untimely death of retired Republic of the Fiji Military Forces soldier, Nimilote Ratudina, has come as a shock to his four children.

It came after he had gone to attend an ex-servicemen’s meeting. Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri has confirmed that the incident happened at a nightclub at the RB Patel Centrepoint building.

Mr Ratudina, 59, was allegedly drinking and he slipped down the nightclub stairs last Friday morning.

“He hit his head several times during the fall; the nightclub bouncers rushed him to the hospital and he was admitted in a critical condition with severe head injuries,” he said.

Nimilote Ratudina Junior, 20, said the news of his father’s condition came to him on Saturday morning.

“The only thing we know is that he had attended a RSA meeting; next we were told by our uncle that he was admitted at the hospital in a critical condition,” Nimilote Jr said.

“We were informed of his death on Saturday morning and it came as a shock to the family; this is more heartbreaking for us his children because we just lost our mother two years ago.

“We are still trying to come to terms with his death.”

The retired soldier is survived by his four children.
