Y-Maro Wins Nadi Futsal Carnival
The Gerard Voi- captained Y-Maro side won the Island Pacific Apparel Futsal Carnival at Nadi Muslim College on Sunday.
The Sigatoka-based club which had Nadroga reps Pramesh Prasad, Mohammed Taslim and Anish Khem beat 4R Men in Black 3-1 in the final.
4R Men In Black had Ba reps Epeli Codro, Aisea Codro, Meli Codro, Ronil Kumar and Patrick Sarwan.
Khem scored two goals which also enabled him to scoop the tournament’s Golden Boot Award with a total of 10 goals. He was also awarded the Most Valuable Player award as well.
Y-Maro won$1100, the late Mohammed Raffique Cup and medals while 4R Electrical Men in Black received $400, trophy and medals.
In the first semifinal, Y-Maro defeated Nikhil Strikers 3-1. In the second semifinal, 4R Electrical Men in Black defeated Northland 2-0.
Tournament coordinator, Nadeem Mohammed hopes to make a bigger and better tournament next year.
