The bauxite shipment by Xinfa Aurum Exploration (Fiji) Limited in Bua, Vanua Levu, has been put on hold.
The company also confirmed that 64,000 dry metric tonne of bauxite had been sent in their last shipment.
Company spokesperson Derek Qiu said currently about 70,000 metric tonne of bauxite stockpile is placed near Nawailevu North jetty.
“We cannot say when our next shipping schedule to China will be since the global market demand is very low at the moment,” Mr Qiu said.
He said now they had to wait till the market demand improves.
The company has already conducted a total of 22 shipments to China since it began its operations in 2012.

Rehab Programme
Despite the delay in shipment about 35,000 pine trees have been planted this year at Nawailevu.
Mr Qiu said they are committed to the rehabilitation programme.
He indicated that Nawailevu covers two areas- namely Nawailevu North and Nawailevu South.
“Bauxite mining at Nawailevu South has been completed. The last few months the company has been mining at Nawailevu North. We are currently conducting our rehabilitation program that is planting of pine trees in various areas in Nawailevu. We have planted 35,000 pine trees and 100,000 pine tree seedlings are waiting to be planted soon,” Mr Qiu added.
