Super Yacht Adastra Boosts Port Denarau Marina Image

Described by Boat International Magazine as ‘one of the world’s most amazing super yachts, the £15 million (FJ$49 million) Adastra can currently be found in Fijian waters.
The 42.5 metre super yacht equipped with the latest and most advanced technology belongs to Hong Kong shipping magnate, Anto Marden, 66, owner of Fenwick Shipping Services.
It is currently berthed at the popular Port Denarau Marina.
Port Denarau Marina managing director Nigel Skeggs said the arrival of Adastra on Saturday has boosted the profile of Port Denarau marina.
“It is here in the Fijian waters for the first time and definitely having Adastra will boost the imagery size of Port Denarau and Fiji as yachting destinations,” he said.
“She is one of its kind ever to be built with the latest technology available.
“Despite the fact that we have stepped into the hurricane season, but the super yachts are still in large numbers and this shows that we have good process in place at the marina.”
Mr Skeggs said over 60 super yachts have berthed at the Marina this year.
Adastra
The giant Adastra is a three-hulled made-to-order yacht designed by UK yacht designer, John Shuttleworth.
The Adastra is so high-tech, it can even be controlled remotely at the touch of an iPad… as long as you don’t get any further away than 50 metres.
The yacht’s high-concept, space-age look is no gimmick. The shape has been specially developed to cut through waves as it glides across the high seas.
Adastra was unveiled in China in April 2012 and took three years to build, as well as two years of planning and design.
Her big fuel tank coupled with her dynamic sailing efficiency allows the Adastra to travel up to 4000 miles without refuelling – the same distance from London to New York.
The designer’s website says: “She is the result of meticulous attention to detail and innovative design to create a yacht that meets the needs of a very experienced ocean voyaging couple and their family.”
