The Vodafone Fijian Football team lost their second friendly match against Vanuatu 2-1 at the Port Vila Stadium yesterday.

The two secured a 1-1 draw in their first meet but the Frank Farina side lost the momentum yesterday and managed one goal through co-captain Roy Krishna in the second half.

National Team director Tarunesh Reddy said they were happy with their performance.

“It’s not the best result we were expecting but the boys did well and played their heart out there.

“Now that is over we’ll be concentrating and be preparing for the tournament in May and June next year so we have six months to train and look back at our mistakes and try to fix them,” Reddy said.

Meanwhile Fiji football has dropped another spot on the latest FIFA rankings. Fiji is now ranked 190th in the world.

The team arrives home today.
