Villagers of Lamiti of Gau aim to raise $3700 during the Lomaiviti Festival.
The amount will be their levy to the Lomaiviti Provincial Council.
Village development deputy chairman Asaeli Lave said they also had other development plans for the village.
“Apart from the target for the levy, we will also be keeping some money for our children,” Mr Lave said.
“We will be having a soli in December and this is for the rebuilding of our village church.
“It is important that developments in the village continue and during this festival, we will be working on our village development plans.”
The festival is held at the Suva foreshore carpark.
Food and handicraft items are on sale at the festival. The festival started on Wednesday and ends tomorrow.
The committee aims to raise $156,000, which will be invested in their children’s education and other provincial developments.
